Imanol Rodriguez made a stunning debut, defeating Kevin Borjas by TKO (strikes) at 4:21 of Round 2. Rodriguez, a The Ultimate Fighter Season 33 semifinalist and DWCS grad, nearly finished Borjas in the opening round. But Rodriguez showed resilience, securing a takedown and taking control with strikes. The 26-year-old flyweight is now 7-0 with a 100% finishing rate and trains under former two-division champ Daniel Cormier. While he's still raw, Rodriguez has tremendous potential.
Santiago Luna kicked off the main card with a strong performance, defeating Angel Pacheco by unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27). Luna, a Contender Series alum, showcased his offensive arsenal, hurting Pacheco multiple times and displaying smooth grappling transitions. Despite Pacheco's toughness, Luna's variety and sharpness proved too much.
As the night progressed, the main event loomed. Moreno, a former two-time flyweight champion, seeks to reclaim his title on home soil. Kavanagh, a short-notice challenger from London, England, will test Moreno's skills. Will Moreno's advantage be enough? Or will Kavanagh's challenge prove too much?
