Get ready for an exciting celebration! Disney is set to honor America's 250th birthday by being a part of the 2026 Tournament of Roses Parade. This festive event will feature beloved characters like Mickey Mouse and his friends, along with more than 50 veterans who proudly serve as Disney Cast Members today.
In an official announcement, The Walt Disney Company revealed that its entry in the 2026 Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena will be called "Disney Celebrates America." This spectacular float serves as a heartfelt tribute to the nation’s semiquincentennial, showcasing Disney's unique flair for storytelling, dreams, and the hope that has inspired countless individuals both within the U.S. and around the globe over the last century.
Leading the parade will be Mickey & Friends, riding in a specially designed vehicle adorned with a vibrant array of red, white, and blue flowers. These colors not only celebrate the patriotic spirit but also pay homage to American veterans and their families who will join the festivities.
Each flower on the float symbolizes something significant for military veterans. For instance, the bright red poppies have long been recognized as a symbol of remembrance for those who made the ultimate sacrifice during World War I. Additionally, the float will showcase other meaningful flowers such as rosemary, blue irises, white lilies, chrysanthemums, and red roses, collectively representing love, respect, and gratitude towards veterans everywhere.
Bob Iger, CEO of The Walt Disney Company, expressed pride in participating in this year’s Tournament of Roses Parade. He stated, "This initiative, 'Disney Celebrates America,' not only honors our nation’s remarkable 250-year journey but also celebrates the spirit of America and the extraordinary individuals who contribute to it, especially our service members, veterans, and their families. We are thrilled to feature our own veteran cast members, kicking off the year at this iconic event while sharing the Disney magic that bridges generations."
